We have just released Instantbird 0.1.2.1 to fix a crash that a lot of people experienced when trying to connect their MSN account on Windows. Unfortunately, this issue wasn’t detected during our testing prior to the release and we are really sorry about it.
If you have Instantbird 0.1.2 on Windows (and if it doesn’t crash at startup because of an automatic connection to your MSN account), you will receive an automated update notification within 24 to 48 hours.
You can get the full version of Instantbird 0.1.2.1 from the download page.
We would like to thank our users who sent crash reports and useful feedback, and congrats to the people who worked on the crash reporting and automated update tools. Being able to notice, locate and fix quickly such bugs with a small (21kB) update is just amazing!
Way to go! I’m glad to see that you are still working on Instantbird.
Keep up the good work, I’ve been waiting for something like this for ages!
I’ve downloaded instant bird and tried to install it. It asked me for my account information and it does get my friends but does not allow me to message them or give any information on them. It has the usual windows box with my friends usernames inside and at the top the options it gives me to click on are File (w/add buddy & get away), Tools (Sounds, accounts & add-ons), ? (about Instantbird), Join Chat is also under File but does not work. Is there to be more or what? I followed the instructions to the T. Was there something more I needed like another program installed? If so be more detailed in your instructions. And if there isn’t any more this program needs alot more cause it sucks.
@Cris : Just double click on your friends in the list to message them.
It’s great do see that you’re always working on new advancements of Instantbird and that problems such as those occured are resolved. So thanks for your endeavors.
